Leopard Man!
Filed Under Uncategorized | Leave a Comment
Another gem from the telegraph…
Apparently the Leopard man of Skye (everybody’s favourite attraction….) has decided to pack it in and move into a retirement home, citing canoe trouble as his reason.
I wish him luck, perhaps he could become a domestic cat.

“Gordon Brown Promises to Borrow and Spend”
Filed Under (Gordon's screwed our) Economy | Leave a Comment
Headline on thetelegraph.co.uk. I AM HORRIFIED.
Apparently Gordo thinks his plans to increase public borrowing and spending are the only ‘responsible’ thing to do to protect families and businesses from the economic downturn.
Are you actually joking!?!? RESPONSIBLE!?!?! Responsible would be not buggering the economy over the last 10 years. Responsible would perhaps be not allowing our [...]

Last day in Brussels

I don’t want to leave and have, in the space of 2 weeks, decided I want to come out here for a year or 2 after the UK general election and work for an MEP. The many virtues of the Brussels/Strasbourg experience have been extolled endlessly on here over the last few weeks and I [...]

Have a look at the Tory MEPs in this, notably Syed, Dan Hannan and Roger Helmer.
Look on the right to “ep live video”, from there find the date January 17th 2008, click on it, then scroll down to “explanation of votes” (17.01.2008). Its worth it.
Fantastic.

How absolutely hilarious!!!
There are plans to allow passengers to be effectively strip searched before boarding an aircraft by scanners that can see through clothes and reveal breast implants among other things a few people may like to keep to themselves.
MEPs have called for safeguards to prevent the revealing images from being stored or published - [...]

Conservative MEPs will work with Ashton
Filed Under Ashton, Brussels, Labour Party, Strasbourg | Leave a Comment
As Ashton is confirmed as new EU Commissioner the Conservative MEPs have made it clear they will work with her in her new role to deliver Britain’s interests.
Despite initial concerns raised by MEPs from a number of different countries that Baroness Ashton did not have the necessary experience she has been confirmed as the new [...]

Mandy’s Revenge
Filed Under Uncategorized | Leave a Comment
This Osborne-Deripaska business seems to be resolved in that the Tories did nothing wrong for they did not accept a donation. This is clearly dirty politics aimed at bringing down Osborne who has been so instrumental in recent Conservative success.
Having seen some of the papers they are remarkably biased against the Conservatives. No change there, [...]

Ashton Rouses the Feminists
Filed Under Ashton, Brussels, Labour Party | 1 Comment
Something I noticed last night is something that generally makes me rather angry within politics.
I am all for equal rights and equal opportunities. This includes gender, race, religion, sexuality, age etc. What annoys me though is the apparent need to push these “minority groups” (and women) into positions because isn’t this just further discrimination?
What is wrong with a [...]
